About the Harmony and Jay Foundation | Mission & Vision
Some missions begin with a single moment. Ours began with a birth. In 2022, our founders welcomed their first son into the world at one of Tanzania’s finest hospitals, and in the joy of that moment, a question quietly took hold. How different would their son’s life look if he had been born without parents to love him, without a family to fight for him? That question led them to explore the realities facing orphaned children in Tanzania. It led them to the children of New Faraja Orphanage Centre in Dar es Salaam. And it led them to a realisation that they could not walk away. What started as a desire to help became a calling, and that calling became the Harmony and Jay Foundation.
Who We Are
Harmony and Jay Foundation is a registered Canadian nonprofit based in Windsor, Ontario. We exist to uplift children and youth who face barriers to opportunity, belonging, and care. We operate at the intersection of compassion and action, building partnerships, raising funds, and developing programmes that create lasting change in the lives of young people.
We are not a large institution. We are a community of people who refuse to look away. People who believe that the circumstances a child is born into do not have to define the life they get to live.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create 10 million confident youth who refuse to be defined by the barriers placed before them. Confidence, in our view, is not a soft goal. It is a foundation. It is what allows a child to stay in school, to dream, to advocate for themselves, and to step into a future that was not supposed to be theirs.
We stand for every child who has been judged for their race, their religion, or their roots. We stand for every young person who has been denied access to the education and opportunities they deserve. Confidence is not a privilege. It is a right. And we are here to make sure every child knows it.
Our Two Programmes
Right now, we work through two distinct but deeply connected programmes. The first is our partnership with New Faraja Orphanage Centre in Tanzania, where we support 120 orphaned children with education, healthcare, food, and shelter. The second is Wings and Roots, our programme for newcomer and refugee youth in Windsor, Ontario, launching in September 2026.

Where We Are Going
We are building towards something ambitious: a global network of programmes that equips children and youth with the confidence to shape their own lives. Over the next decade, we plan to fund full scholarships for children in Tanzania, expand Wings and Roots across Canada, build a new orphanage to welcome more children, and grow a volunteer network that connects skilled people with the youth who need them most.
It starts with belief. Belief that children who have been given the least can still achieve the most, if someone stands in their corner. We are that someone. And we would love for you to be too.
